Bennett was not very good dealing with people, never really was, and that he strove in its infancy, but there came a point in his mid-teens when he finally had to resign to be a social misfit. Never be the life of the party, nor would the agenda to the top of appointments or phone numbers. She was the girl who was always in the last table in the library, behind a pile of books and notes, a refugee in his world of formulas and experiments, where nothing and nobody could disturb it. From there he watched the rest of his teammates, some were passed notes with obscene messages, others laughed at the expense of the library or looking for some privacy in the most remote shelves. So spent most of his years in school, and she was fine, but was already accustomed to their zero social skills would be a constant throughout his life.

Then came college. And it came . Caroline

burst into life with a sincere smile and a wink that made you feel strangely at home. At first, was on the defensive, wondering what could want a girl like Caroline to someone like her. Against all logic, seemed to fit two pieces of the puzzle, only with different colors. Despite this, yet sometimes, as when Caroline was about to accommodate a lock of hair behind her ear, still wondering if it will be too good to be true. But just a moment then his eyes meet and she smiles genuine, causing a slight tingling in the stomach, and ends by saying that some things are best not to analyze too much. Yes, almost blasphemous, but Caroline produced this effect on her.

"But I'm not sure, I mean, you know how ... -

-Bennie, we are only a few hours, no eternal punishment ... -

"Yes, I know, but is that ... -

" Hey, do not worry, I will not let any big guy approaches you pervert - Caroline took her to the party, her first party as a university official. I was not too excited (She? Party? Two incompatible elements no doubt) but her friend managed to convince even allowed to make up for the occasion. A little blush on the cheeks, eyebrows and lip gloss outlined, nothing too provocative but Caroline praised the outcome, saying he looked "radiant." Bennett wanted to ask what he meant exactly "radiant" but had no time to do so, the party ahead.

was not as bad as expected, only had to listen to irrelevant discussions and references to characters and musical groups to which she had barely heard about it sometimes. No one could blame her, her brain was too busy storing information about neuroanatomy. So he stayed there in the middle of a busy group, pretending that the conversation was interesting, smiling when the rest burst out laughing and sipping his beer from time to time.

"Definitely, more computers and less beer for you,

- Could be worse -

- You think? -

returned to the room in the dark, laughing and stumbling. During the whole journey took Caroline's hand clutching her waist. He insisted repeatedly that he was not drunk, but left the cause excuses after five bottles of beer were at a nearby table were shattered on the floor. All eyes were on her, put her hands to her mouth without knowing what to do until Caroline, with a carefree smile, came up to her whispering a simple "I think it's time to go back eh?".

"It was so bad right? For my first festival and that ... I mean, I thought it would be much worse, like in the movies, left locked in the bathroom to the nerds ... or sometimes thrown in the pool ... - Bennett did not believe too much have been exceeded beer, but the stomach felt light and slurred speech, I could still hear the music ringing in your ears feast. No resistance left Caroline's hands would lead to blind the room, moving smoothly as if it were a doll.

-Oh Bennie, want or get up tomorrow ... - Caroline slowly placed it on the bed, talking in whispers. I could feel his body next to hers, his hands stroking her hair with slow movements. Slowly, ear rumbling stopped, it started to sink into a silence broken only by the breath of Caroline. Inhaled and exhaled softly, almost as if holding back the slightest noise might disturb. After a few moments there was movement on the mattress and instinctively let out a pout, looking into the darkness his arm to stop it.

"No, stay ... -

- Want to ensure your dream? - Both laughed together, encompassing their bodies as if the bed will remain too small.

closing their eyes, Bennett is pictured on a beach with the sun burning his cheeks and the sinking sand under their feet. Everything seemed so vivid that at times could really feel the sea breeze around and hear the sound of the waves. Caroline was there, the sea, smiling and urging him to get to the sea with her. Bennett shyly refused several times, whispering that it was a good swimmer and the bank was a safer place. "We Bennie, you're with me what could happen?" Phrase in his head spun as she took his hand and moved slowly between waves. Some seemed too dangerous for your taste, but Caroline's hand was pinned to his, her friend never stopped smiling. Bennett eventually calm down and looked at the horizon in the evening that seemed infinite. "See? I knew you would ... "stayed with that phrase (and smile) echoing the waves, floating in a dream absorbed deeper and deeper.

Waking several hours later his eyes stinging, the body was still groggy and it looked like a needle was mercilessly squeezing his temples. Caroline was already awake, but still in bed beside her, reading a book, not enough to read the title from his position. He was frowning and seemed so focused on reading that would not move because he wanted to prolong this moment a little longer. The two of us, making company in silence, as if there were nothing else. But his eyes had to be intense, because after a while Caroline landed her eyes on, intrigued and raising an eyebrow.

- What? -
Bennett
bit her lower lip, contained a huge smile. He was full, as though (finally) have found their place in the world. "Nothing
